1.1 Application for National Colours shall be directed to the S.A. Ju-Jitsu Council Executive in writing by the SAJJC Team Manager accompanied by a motivation for the award of the colours based on the criteria in paragraph 1.2 below.
1.2 Colours may be sanctioned and recommended by the Executive Board in the case of a member who:
a. Represents South Africa against another International team;
b. Serves as Team Manager or Coach in an International competition.
1.3 National trials under the auspices of the S.A.Ju-Jitsu Council open to all registered members shall be held.
1.4 These recommendations shall be forwarded to the Japanese Martial Arts Authority, who shall, if approved, forward them to the Martial Arts Authority for submission to the Colours Board of the National Sports Council for award of the colours at their discretion.
2. S.A. JU-JITSU COUNCIL COLOURS
2.1 Application for SAJJC colours must be directed to the SAJJC Executive in writing by the relevant National Team Manager accompanied by a motivation for the award of the colours based on the criteria in paragraph 2.2 below.
2.2 Colours may be awarded by the National Executive Board to a member who:
a. Represents South Africa against an International team as competitor, coach or manager; where full National Colours have not been sanctioned, or
b. Represents the SA Ju-Jitsu Council against an International team as competitor, coach or manager; or
c. Renders exceptional service to the SAJJC.
3.1 Application for Provincial colours must be directed to the SA Ju-Jitsu Council Executive in writing by the relevant Provincial Executive body accompanied by a motivation for the award of the colours based on the criteria in paragraph 3.2 below.
3.2 Colours may be awarded by the Executive Board to a member who:
a. Gains a South African title; or
b. Gains National Colours; or
c. Gains SAJJC Colours; or
d. Represents his/her Province during a national championship; or
e. Represents his/her Province against a visiting international team; or
f. Represents his/her Province against another provincial team three (3) times; or
g. Serves for three consecutive years as provincial team manager or coach; or
h. Renders exceptional service to his/her Provincial body.
